Data import via clip board or file import usually work smoothly.
However sometimes problems can occur, when the data contains invisible control characters such as LF (linefeed) etc.
In ms-excel you can identify such characters by looking for the line breaks within the cell text. Remove these characters by hand or by using the "clean" function in ms-excel (refer to the ms-excel manual) and the data import should work well.
